John Bassi
John specializes in tenant representation and urban product leasing, focusing on market analysis, site selection, lease negotiation and business development. Working alongside best-in-class retailers, John has gained invaluable knowledge in facilitating strategic tenant roll-outs throughout Chicagoland and has cultivated countless relationships while doing so.John’s understanding of changing consumer values and the importance of the balance between a unique offline experience and seamless digital presence has allowed him to keep his finger on the pulse of brands that continue to innovate and disrupt the retail landscape.Prior to joining Canvas, John spent four years with Mid-America Real Estate Corporation as part of the Urban Retail Group. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign earning a degree in Economics and Communication.

Andrew Becker
Andrew has twenty years of diverse real estate knowledge in leasing, tenant representation, property disposition, acquisition, due diligence, valuation, and lease restructuring. Andrew has been involved in more than 250 transactions representing over 8,000,000 square feet with an aggregate value of these transactions exceeding $800 million.Prior to forming Canvas, Andrew was Senior Vice President in the Urban Group at Mid-America Real Estate Corporation from 2011 to 2018. Prior to Mid-America, he was Vice President at Hilco Real Estate from 2006 to 2011.Andrew holds a Bachelor degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Continuing Education through the Chicago School of Real Estate and CCIM Institute. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a board member for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance.

Anthony has established himself as an expert in urban retail real estate and has a track record of developing retail trade areas and making impactful contributions to Chicago’s neighborhoods. Among his most significant accomplishments include the relocation of Apple’s Chicago flagship location from 679 North Michigan Avenue to 401 North Michigan Avenue.He has well-established relationships with owners and developers, including Acadia Realty Trust, Angelo, Gordon & Co., CIM Group, Friedman Properties, L3 Capital, Newcastle Limited, and Oxford Capital Group.

Michael has comprehensive experience as real estate advisor to local, national and institutional landlords, retailers, restauranteurs, private equity businesses, lenders and restructuring professionals. His expert knowledge of Chicago’s urban retail landscape extends from high street downtown retail to neighborhood environments, and he specializes in leasing retail product in major university environments throughout the country.Prior to forming Canvas, Michael was Senior Vice President in the Urban Group at Mid-America Real Estate Corporation from 2013 to 2020. Prior to Mid-America, he was the Managing Broker at J. Patrick Realty from 2007 to 2013.Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas. Kate joined CANVAS in 2023 focusing on both Tenant and Landlord representation. Growing up in the Chicagoland area, Kate cultivated and maintains deep personal and professional ties to the community.
Kate started her professional career in Account Management and Employee Development in the Tech industry. After spending 2 years in technology and 7 years in California she decided to return to Chicago to pursue a career in commercial real estate. Prior to joining CANVAS, Kate spent 2 years in San Diego working in Advertising Technology She graduated from Santa Clara University with a degree in Environmental Science.

Joining CANVAS as Vice President in 2023, Quinn specializes in retail and restaurant leasing on behalf of both landlords and tenants, bringing fresh insights to Chicago's dynamic commercial real estate market. Prior to joining CANVAS, Quinn spent 5 years at Goldstreet Partners and was integral in executing deals on behalf of tenants such as The Kindling, Seoul Spice, Sifr, Sushi By Scratch, NADC Burger, Deep Purpl, Crumbl, Soiree Hospitality Group, and PF Chang’s To-Go. His expertise also extends to serving prominent landlords and developers, including Cedar St Companies, Vista Property Group, Sterling Bay, City Club Apartments, Oxford Capital Group, and LG Group.Quinn's foundation in the industry was built at Perimeter Builders Inc. as a Project Manager, where he managed residential design/build projects. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.Living in Chicago’s River North neighborhood, Quinn is an avid explorer of the city's diverse culinary and nightlife scene. His interests also extend to music, where he enjoys playing guitar, and to sports, particularly golf.
